Gitanismos en los diccionarios del argot mexicano del siglo XX

El texto estudia los términos de origen gitano documentados en los diccionarios del argot mexicano publicados en el siglo XX. La época de finales del XIX y de comienzos del XX sería la última fase en la que el componente gitano del argot espaňol, conocido entonces como caló jergal, pudo haber influido en el enriquecimiento del argot mexicano, llamado caló también y que conserva este nombre hasta hoy día. Nos basamos en las coincidencias parciales de los gitanismos en los repertorios del argot espaňol de finales del XIX y de las primeras décadas del XX que se documentan asimismo en los diccionarios del argot mexicano del siglo XX. Si comparamos los gitanismos documentados en los repertorios lexicográficos del caló jergal espaňol y del caló mexicano, notamos coincidencias, pero también diferencias de aspectos formales y de cambios semánticos. Nuestro fin es separar la tradición común de la innovación mexicana y estudiar las direcciones en las que han evolucionado los gitanismos propiamente mexicanos.

The text studies the terms of gypsy origin documented in the Mexican slang dictionaries published in the 20th century. The period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries would be the last phase in which the Gypsy component of Spanish slang, known then as caló jergal, could have influenced the enrichment of Mexican slang, also called caló, that retains this name until today. We base ourselves on the partial coincidences of the Gypsy loanwords in the Spanish slang repertoires of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which appear in the 19th-century Mexican slang dictionaries as well. If we compare the Gypsy loanwords in the dictionaries of Spanish criminal slang and Mexican caló, we note coincidences but also differences in their structure and semantic changes. We aim to separate the common tradition of Mexican innovation and study the directions in which properly Mexican Gypsy loanwords have evolved.
