This study describes the strategies used by princes and churches to strengthen the links between centre and periphery in Bohemia. At the end of the tenth century, the Přemyslids and bishops mainly controlled the revenues of regions or villages close to Prague, while from around from around 1050 onwards, gifts of land and income were made to other regions. This growing control over territory is reflected in the changing structure of donations.
