The attachment apparatus of diplozoids: morphological abnormalities
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Diplozoids (Diplozoidae) are monogenean parasites living on the gills mainly of cyprinid fish. The apparatus, which maintains attachment of the adult diplozoid, consists of pair of the central hooks and four pairs of the clamps on each opisthaptor. Thereis a lack of papers concerning abnormally developed specimens of diplozoids. Majority of abnormalities are related to the attachment apparatus, however causes of them are only discussed (the presence of abnormalities was associated mainly with environment pollution). In the present study, all recorded abnormalities of attachment apparatus were categorised into seven types. There were abnormalities mentioned by previous authors, but also new types of clamp abnormalities and rare abnormalities at centralhooks were detected. More then 21% of parasites (Paradiplozoon homoion, a gill parasite of Gobio gobio) from four localities (two from Vlára River and one from Říka and Svratka Rivers) had abnormalities of attachment apparatus. Also expe
