The aim of this study was to contribute to the method for sampling phytophilous macroinvertebrates in hard emergent macrophytes in fishpond littorals. We developed a modified Gerking frame box sampler with movable cutter and we compared its efficiency with hand sweep netting. We developed also new type of core sampler for collection of animals inhabiting the root zone of emergent plants.
