Cave Microclimate Impact on Karst Processes: Role of Cave Ventilation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Cave ventilation and its impact on microclimatic parameters were studied in the Císařská Cave (the northern part of the Moravian Karst, Czech Republic) during 2006-2007 period. Air fluxes through cave oscillated with a period of few seconds and amplitudeabout 0.1 m3 s-1. Mean volume fluxes through the lower and higher entrances, respectively, varied from +0.10 to -0.05 m3 s-1 and from -0.19 to +0.07 m3 s-1 as outdoor temperature varied between -3.2 and 31.9 deg C. The unbalanced fluxes indicate minor additional fluxes in/out of cave. A nonlinear dependence of air flux on outdoor temperature was found. The fluxes were lowest at 13 deg C. They oscillated with 0.03 m3 s-1 amplitude and changed their directions. The cave ventilation, v = 0.059 hour-1, andresidence time, tau = 17 hours, were calculated from the maximum flux of 0.188 m3 s-1. The residence time value indicates that cave atmosphere should be completely exchanged during 17 hours under these conditions and at an ideally piston
