This paper looks at the ways which contemporary Native American authors use in order to incorporate the tribal system of knowledge into their writings. The author examines the selections from the works of Leslie Marmon Silko, N. Scott Momaday and ThomasKing, in which they address the issue of literacy, storytelling and the power of the spoken word.
