Jean-François Vilar, auteur de romans policiers, est passionné de coups d?Etat et des bouleversements des régimes totalitaires qui ont secoué le monde dans la deuxieme moitié du 20e siecle. Sur la trame d?un roman policier, la description de la Révolution de velours de 1989 a Prague reliée a l?histoire du groupe surréaliste des années 1920 a Paris apporte avant tout le regard surprenant d?un militant de gauche Français sur les événements historiques récents de l?Europe centrale. Le présent article analyse les oppinions d auteur sur ces événements.

Jean-François Vilar is an author of crime fiction which often takes place during times of revolution and coups d'Etat under various regimes, both totalitarian and democratic, in the 20th century. In his latest book he offers a surprising point of view onthe recent history of Central Europe (the Munich Agreement and the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia), as presented by a member of the French radical left. The article aims to analyse the author's intentions and his view of such issues and compare these against historical facts and their interpretations.
