Ziel des Beitrags ist es, diejenigen Figuren aus ausgewählten Romanen und Erzählungen von Ludwig Winder und Ernst Weiß zu beschreiben, die in loser Anlehnung an den Charaktertypus des ?tschechischen/böhmischen? Dieners gestaltet sind. Diese Figuren sindals Tschechen (Slawen, Mährer, Böhmen) markiert und es lässt sich bei ihnen eine ? wiewohl indirekte und fiktional umgeformte ? Verbindung zu dem in der Habsburger Monarchie des 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhunderts weitverbreiteten Stereotyp feststellen, dasden Böhmen nicht nur die Profession, sondern auch die Natur des Dieners zuschreibt. Ludwig Winder und Ernst Weiß, als deutschmährische Autoren von hoher künstlerischer Qualität, gehen mit dem stereotypen Stoff allerdings so um, dass entweder die Stereotypisierung als solche enttarnt wird oder der relativ feste Motivkern des Stereotyps aufgelöst bzw. aufgelockert wird. Der Beitrag konzentriert sich auf die narrativen Strategien, die diese Enttarnung, Auflösung oder Auflockerung herbeiführ

The aim of the paper is to describe the nature of fictional characters in selected stories and novels by Ludwig Winder and Ernst Weiss based on nation stereotypes. These characters are marked as Czechs (Bohemian, Moravian, Slavic) and as far as their personalities are concerned, they appear to be connected to the stereotype of the Czech servant which was widespread in the 19th and early 20th century. Weiss and Winder, German Moravian authors of high artistic quality, however, do not use the stereotype in order to sharpen it but nonetheless they employ it for artistic purposes. To make this possible, they use various strategies, such as splitting the contents of the stereotype in more characters to show possibilities of overcoming it, or they put the stereotype in unusual settings to soften it. The paper tries to analyze some of these strategies.
