Die Funktion der Literatur als Katalysator politischer Utopien rückt in der letzten Zeit immer wieder in den Fokus der Literaturwissenschaft. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt die Tätigkeit des alldeutsch orientierten Verlags „Das Deutsche Haus“ in Brno/Brünn (Tschechische Republik) als exemplarisches Beispiel der Literaturvereinnahmung zwecks Verbreitung utopischer Weltanschauung dar und setzt sie in Kontext der breiteren Problematik, in deren Rahmen die Fragen nach dem Verhältnis zwischen Kunst und Politik, Ideologie und künstlerischer Freiheit thematisiert werden.

The function of literature as a catalyst for political utopias has recently been the focus of literary scholars. The present article describes the activities of the pan-German oriented publishing house “Das Deutsche Haus” in Brno/Brünn (Czech Republic) as an example of the appropriation of literature for the purpose of disseminating utopian ideologies and places it in the context of the broader problematics discussing the questions of the relationship between art and politics, ideology and artistic freedom.
