The gradual acquirement of the consistent statistical data on prices and consumptions by the Czech statistical bureau have opened the possibility of modeling the demand behavior of the Czech consumer by the means of some expenditure or demand systems. The author has chosen three of them: the AIDS, the Rotterdam model and the TRANSLOG system, for which the appropriate demand schemes were specified. The paper presents the short review of properties of these three demand systems and results of the econometric estimation carried out by each of them using the Czech economic data, too. The basic COICOP classification of commodities was adopted for the purpose of the analysis. Finally, a comparison of the results of several model specifications is completed.
