Impact of the financial and debt crisis in the financial market are reflected in the activities of insurance companies, in particular their investment activities. Using methods for the analysis to show that the European insurance market and insurance market in the Czech Republic there was little change in the financial position of insurance companies available funds. This paper therefore focuses on the analysis of trends in the financial position of available funds by selected commercial insurance companies in the insurance market in the Czech Republic and the investment structure of financial instruments.
