"The two-day conference was organized in memory of our esteemed colleague and one of the most prominent and internationally renowned experts in the field of NMR and structural biology, Professor Vladimír Sklenar, who passed away on 13 April 2024. At the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), Masaryk University, he was instrumental in building cutting-edge research infrastructures in structural biology, especially in NMR spectroscopy and electron microscopy. CIISB has established itself at the level of comparable facilities in Western Europe through its interactions with Instruct-ERIC, the European infrastructure of ESFRI, where he served as a member of the Executive Committee and Board. His tenure at Masaryk University Faculty of Science, CIISB and CEITEC was characterized by a great passion for scientific challenges and a great deal of humanity with which he approached his colleagues. Lectures and contributions by invited speakers brought back memories of Vladimir's time and presented the latest scientific findings in structural biology and NMR."
