The author observes shift in the silver trade, which took place in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, due to contemporary political and economic changes. He compares the function of two different coinage systems in monetary circulation of Central and Eastern Europe in the 16th and 17th Centuries, namely the Kingdom of Bohemia and Kingdom of Poland.
