The international conference Ageing of Anthropology, Ageing in Anthropology focused on ageing both as an empirical field of inquiry and as a meta-reflection on the anthropological discipline itself. Discussions addressed transformations in anthropology over recent decades, the institutional conditions of academic work, and the ways anthropological knowledge can contribute to understanding ageing societies. Thematically, the programme covered care, migration, memory, gender, technologies, and environmental change, as well as generational inequalities within academia.The programme featured keynote lectures by Andrew Russell and Jeannette Pols, thematic panels on Romani studies, anthropology of care, environmental anthropology, and visual methodologies, alongside film screenings and social events. The conference took place on 6–8 November 2025 in Pardubice at the University of Pardubice, the Gočár Gallery, and Theatre 29.Representatives of the University of Pardubice actively contributed to the programme of the 8th CASA Biennial Conference Ageing of Anthropology, Ageing in Anthropology.Lada Viková (together with Jana Hachová) presented the paper “About Changes in Research on the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in the Czech Republic / Reflection on the Case Study of Jan Jedlička”, addressing transformations in research on the Roma Holocaust in the Czech context. Lale Yalcin-Heckmann delivered the presentation “Family Firms, Ageing, and Generational Transfer in the Rose Oil Industry in Türkiye”, focusing on intergenerational transfer within family businesses. Michaela Konopíková and Hana Synková presented the paper “Public Space as a Site of Belonging and Exclusion: Insights into Roma and Non-Roma Experiences of Public Places”, analysing public space as a site of inclusion and exclusion. Within the visual anthropology section, the film “In the Homeland of Lacrosse / V domovině lakrosu” (Milan Durňak, Lívia Šavelková) was also screened.
