The paper deals with the importance of reverse logistics, its current position not only in the field of logistics, and its subsequent application in company practice in the Czech Republic. Originally, reverse logistics only focused on, and was thereforealso connected with, product recycling. Nowadays the dominant value, sense of reverse logistics lies in the collection, sorting, dismantling and processing of used products, components, side-products, surplus supplies and wrapping material, where the main aim is to secure the new utilization or material improvement thereof in a way that is environmentally friendly and economically interesting.
