Along with the sharp rise of information technology in the field of cartography the importance of analogue maps is often neglected. Especially in crisis situations maps are irreplaceable source of spatial information. For these reasons, it is necessary to ensure quality of maps. Usability is one of the quality characteristic. At present, testing and evaluation of usability is used in many fields of human activities. In contrary, usability testing and evaluating is a quite new approach in cartography andthis process is not sufficiently documented. The article deals with the definition of conceptual and contextual process models of testing and evaluation of usability of cartographic products, including general model of activities chains. Business process modeling techniques are used to describe the procedure of usability evaluation and testing.
