Geoinformation technologies are taught in several courses in all study programmes at the Faculty of Economics and Administration University of Pardubice. Students acquire a wide range of knowledge and practical skills that can help them to succeed in thelabour market. This article deals with benefits of introduction of distance learning in teaching geoinformation technologies at the faculty. Distance education methods increase current knowledge and skills of students, especially in the field of geographic information systems, remote sensing and global positioning and navigation systems.
