Logistic Technologies for Tracking Manufactured Passenger Cars on Consolidation Areas: Interpretative Case Study

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

At present, companies emphasize maximum awareness in all parts of the logistic chain. Companies continue to focus on the efficient use of time and strive to reduce processes and activities that take longer than necessary. Therefore, it is important to use systems and logistic technologies that provide up-to-date information whenever the user requests it. Reliability is the most important aspect in the introduction of new logistic technologies in a company, because an unreliable system cannot replace the human workforce, does not generate additional benefits and there are financial losses. For a company with high-volume production, it is important not only to monitor products in the production phase, but also to monitor products in the warehouse or on consolidation areas before the products are shipped. Logistic technologies that provide important information not only for operators but also for managers can be used to monitor manufactured passenger cars on consolidation areas. Knowledge of the exact location of products on consolidation areas greatly simplifies and speeds up activities in individual processes. The aim of the article is to demonstrate the use of logistic technologies of automatic identification for tracking of manufactured passenger cars on consolidation areas in the form of an interpretive case study. The article compares the potential implementation of GPS (Global Position System) technology, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and RFID technology in combination with a drone for tracking of manufactured passenger cars on consolidation areas.
