Laparoscopic Procedures for Colorectal Carcinoma
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Colorectal carcinoma presents a serious problem in the Czech R. Therefore, it is advised to incorporate therapeutic algorithms with new modalities that will lead to a change in the existing therapeutic procedures. The aim of this study was to evaluate advantages and disadvantages of laparoscopic procedures for colorectal carcinoma (CRC) and compare the results of laparoscopic procedures with open (laparotomic) procedures. This study was made in response to certain scepticism with which laparoscopic CRCsurgery was accepted at that time in the Czech R. Surgery was performed in 249 patients with CRC. Colon carcinoma was found in 198 patients, and rectal carcinoma was found in 51. A laparoscopic approach was performed in 52 patients with CRC. Reoperationwas required more often in group A. Despite of the critical attitude toward the advantages of the laparoscopic procedures the laparoscopic approach to CRC stays a safe procedure whose short-term results are more favorable than those of op
