The earth dam breach due to overtopping is one of the most complicated engineering problems. The proposal of the probable worst possible but realistic flood hydrograph is of vital importance when solving flood wave propagation downstream the valley belowthe dam and when compiling flood hazard plans. The paper presents the Monte-Carlo simulation using hypercube sampling to produce the probabilistic features of dam breach flooding due to uncertainties in inflows and breach formation. The simulation is based on 1-D deterministic model proposed by Singh. The quality and reliability of this model was verified by physical experiments performed on 1 m high dam at the Laboratory of the Department of Water Structure, Brno TU. Num. results of the deterministicsolution of a dam failure by six different approaches are presented. The results of the practical application of three earth-dam breach modelling techniques show fairly different results in terms of max. breach discharge
