The majority of materials used in the building industry have the character of products made from natural raw materials. A lot of those raw materials belong to the group of non-renewable sources, so their utilization can have the negative ecological impact on the whole society in the future. In the frame of research projects there are developed alternative materials made from secondary raw materials with similar technical features and characteristics, but in some occasions their utilization seems to be not so efficient, as the utilization of natural materials. This paper is focused on the detection of benefits connected with the utilization of materials made from secondary raw materials and the projection of these benefits into the valuation of the usage these materials in the building industry.
