The paper is focused on strengthening concrete and prestressed concrete slabs in punching shear by additional installed steel shear reinforcement. The technology enables strengthening structures which are accessible only from one side such as foundation slabs. Attention is paid to the development of technol-ogy that minimizes the resulting constraints on the surrounding area and is sufficiently effective. Me-chanical expanded anchors are used for anchoring on the inaccessible side. Significant contribution of mechanical anchoring is demonstrated in the tests results which make possible more efficient design of additional punching reinforcement. The technology was tested on several functional samples at a con-struction site. Long-term behaviour of reinforcement has been monitored and results obtained within one and half year are presented in the paper.
