The monitoring of structural changes in the fresh cement mortar by acoustic emission method
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper presents experimental results of monitoring the properties of the cement-based materials. Because it is important in order to achieve better quality control during the material production, passive monitoring by acoustic emission is applied to the specimens already while they are in the fresh state. The acoustic emission method is a non-destructive method that can detect structural changes in the material and it can be used specifically for the monitoring origin of cracks. The experiments have shown that after placing the fresh material into the mould and during the gradual hydration and during hydration an appreciable rate of AE activity is registered in cement-based materials. It can be assumed, this is due to the behavior of the solidifying material, which can be affected by bleeding, segregation, air bubbles and water transport and an early age cracking. It could be also suggested that gradual changes in temperature caused by hydration of cement in the specimen’s structure will be reflec
