The articlel deals with the problem of siphonic method of drainage of flat roofs. The text specifies the requirements for laboratory measuring equipment for testing of siphonic roof drains. The design of siphonic drainage has been preferred over gravity drainage in recent years. The memasuring device has several condition that should be respected. Failure to observe any of the given conditions may lead to a situation in which we would not obtain the relevant result values from the measurements performed. Depending on the location of the measuring device, some of the conditions may be modified in justified cases, but this does not apply to all conditions. In the next research activity will be measured flow capacity of the designed variants of drains.
