Fermentation of Sludge from Pulp and Paper Plant
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
When producing pulp and paper, two kinds of sludge are produced. Primary sludge is formed by fine short fibres from the process of classification and filtration of the ground wood chips. Secondary biological sludge is produced in aerobic waste water treatment plant, where all industrial wastewater from manufacture are treated. Mixed sludge consist of primary sludge, which makes up 1/3 of the total sludge volume and the redundant biological sludge. Mixed sludge is thickened to approximately 7 % of dry matter and finally dewatered to approximately 20 % of solids. Chemical and technological analysis of sludge from pulp and paper plant confirms that anaerobic technology can be conveniently applied to this kind of waste material. To verify this assumption,a laboratory fermenter with rated volume of 25 liters and mixed sludge from Biocel Paskov a.s. was used. Reduction of organic material was investigated, production and quality of biogas was measured. Results were processed in graphs which
