The EDPE 2011 Conference, continues in tradition of two former EDPE Conferences established independently in Košice, Slovakia, in 1973, and in Croatia (the last conference organised in Dubrovnik in 2009 was the 15th Croatian conference). The both previously independent conferences belong to the oldest ones established in Europe in fields of power electronics, electric machines, drives and associated topics. Since 2003 the conference is organised in two-year period alternatively in Slovakia and Croatia as the joint conference. The 17th Conference in Slovakia will continue in exchange of experiences and discussion about recent research, development and future trends in theory, design, application and operation of all types of static power converters, electrical machines and electrical drives, Mechatronic systems and industrial application of motion control and related topics.
