Complex approach towards the assessment of waste-to-energy plants' future potential
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The latest achievements in development of a complex approach towards modelling of future changes in residual waste flows between producers and processors (processing facilities) in an investigated region is introduced in this contribution. The approach, the core of which represents an advanced network flow optimization, has been recently applied as a supportive tool in several practically-oriented projects for both national and regional authorities and potential investors in waste-to-energy plants in the Czech Republic. Since similar calculations can support decision-making process in countries with lower recovery rates, some examples of results will be presented. The following issues will be highlighted: assessment of residual waste availability for particular waste-to-energy plant based on newly formulated criteria; forecasting of waste amounts in region divided into several sub-regions and also their parts processing variety of spatially distributed statistical data; assessment of impact of environmental taxation on waste producers (citizens).
