Removal of NOx at pilot unit using commercially available catalysts
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are among basic pollutants released into the air during combustion of fuels. Emission limits are getting more and more restrictive regardless of the type of facility; currently sufficient technologies for pollutants removal have to be modernized or replaced by more efficient procedures. Financial aspects have to be considered as well as it is the only way to introduce the technology to investors and thus create conditions for its practical usage. This paper presents initial experiments carried out on the testing device with the use of commercially available catalysts. Experiments were executed using variable process conditions (inlet concentration of NOx, gas flow, stoichiometry of ammonia dosing). Main goal was to test catalysts at lower operating temperature, than is commonly used. The temperature of flue gas is an important aspect to maintain NOx conversion, however reheating of the flue gas generates an inconsiderable increase in operating costs of full-scale plants. Measurements are conducted at a new experimental unit. This unit is designed for experiments in laboratory and operational conditions, is of compact size and may be dismantled easily. Unit is equipped with advanced controlling, which gives enough options for operational conditions setting. Therefore, series of planned measurements were carried out and technology properties were described in detail (NOx reduction efficiency, ideal working conditions, undesirable effects).
