TRENDS IN TESTING OF CUTTING COATINGS, EXPERIMENTAL AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
New product development is a long and complicated process from initial idea to market launch. One final, yet essential step is functionality and reliability testing. The aim of this work is to test a newly developed type of coated cutting insert intended for the longitudinal turning of 12050.9 carbon steel. The specific cutting conditions of the newly developed inserts used for tool life tests were determined based on the reference tests. The material intended for testing features the highest influence on the course of the cutting process, the behavior of the cutting edge, its stability, and the resulting tool life. The tool wear development during the testing process was carefully monitored using a light microscope. The measured data were analytically processed, and final durability dependencies were compiled with the inclusion of the influence of the cutting speed (T-vc) and feed per rotation (T-f).
