This paper gives an overview of the actual situation in the Czech electronics sector, which is very significant through positive development characterised by entry of many important foreign OEM and CM after the year 1989. The significant facts of this development in the period of the last ten years, and the main factors influencing and supporting this situation are discussed in this paper. This work is a part of the grant project FRVS IS 421920 Innovation of Education of Microelectronics Assembly TTechnologies and was supported by the Czech Ministry of Education in the frame of Research Plan MSM 262200022 MIKROSYT Microelectronic Systems and Technologies.
