Available facilities include a workstation and two ATM switches, Lightstream 1010 and Catalyst 5000. The workstation provided with a Rapid Fire 615x ATM card will be used as the server. The analyser used is a WinPharaoh. Using the analyser and other available software tools the behaviour of MS Windows NT and Novell NetWare network operation systems is followed in the LANE environment. Since the LANE emulation only offers a transmission environment similar to classical environments of the type of best effort, the subject of analysis is the network loading obtained.
