There are many network applications focused on data acquisition from group of information resources of variable size. As an example the multimedia streaming services like IP-TV using RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) protocol used for media streaming and RTCP (RTP Control Protocol) protocol for session quality feedback can be presented. Sensor networks can be other examples - wired or more frequently wireless ones. The problem arises when such systems become larger: how to collect and process a large amount of information quickly and effectively? The article describes hierarchical system of data acquisition, its optimization and it addresses the problems that appear in such systems.
