Generating the 7Li(p, n) neutron spectra up to 10 MeV proton beam energy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
7Li (p, n) is a neutron source which is used world widely for the neutron induced reaction cross sections measurements. The source produces mono energy neutrons below 5-6 MeV and there after due to the three body interaction low energy neutrons are produces. Also the contributions of the neutrons from the first excited state of the 7Li also need to be considered. Even though this is a very powerful source for the measurements of nuclear reaction cross sections. In the present work, we have calculated the neutron spectra from the interaction of a proton beam with a thin 7Li target. The energy of the protons are taken from 2 MeV to 10 MeV. The Monte Carlo based Monte Carlo N Particle code was taken for the simulation of the neutron spectra. The spectrums are important for the new researchers who wish to measure the nuclear reaction cross sections using the same source as a neutron source.
