INTERACTIONS OF DEAED-DIETHYLAMINOETHYL DEXTRAN HYDROCHLORIDE AND SODIUM DODECYL SULFATE IN THE RESEARCH OF HYDROGELS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Polyelectrolytes are able to interact with oppositely charged surfactants via electrostatic forces. In these highly interacting systems a strong electrostatic attraction between the individual components occurs. After exceeding the critical aggregation concentration (CAC) that is significantly smaller than the critical micellization concentration (CMC) of the surfactant in solution, the aggregates begin to form. The main aim of this study was to describe the initial formation of the interaction in polyelectrolyte-surfactant system and to identify the state, which precedes the formation of the hydrogel. For this study a cationic polysaccharide diethylaminoethyl-dextran hydrochlorid (DEAED) and anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) were used. The formation of the interactions between DEAED and SDS was studied by the light scattering based techniques using Zetasizer Nano ZS (Malvern Instruments), high resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy (HR-US, Ultrasonic scientific) and densitometry (DSA 5000M
