Publikace seznamuje čtenáře se základními principy chování stavebních konstrukcí v architektuře. Obsahuje výklad teoretických základů statického řešení stavebních konstrukcí, s cílem pochopení základních principů řešení a statického působení elementárních a částečně i složitějších typů konstrukcí. Je koncipována s ambicí logického řazení jednotlivých kapitol, respektujíc tematický obsah běžného inženýrského oboru. Výklad je modifikován do formy zdůrazňující pochopení podstaty a principů působení stavebních konstrukcí, doložených numerickými příklady a konkrétními realizacemi především z oblasti architektury. Publikace je prioritně určena pro studenty fakult architektury.

This publication acquaints readers with the basic principles governing the behaviour of building structures. It contains a presentation of the theoretical basis of their design from the point of view of statics. The aim is to help readers understand the fundamentals of the design and statics behaviour of both elementary and more complex types of structure. Conceptually, the individual chapters are arranged in a logical manner respecting the thematic content of this standard field of engineering. The content of this book is designed to emphasise the understanding of the essence and principles of the behaviour of building structures. To this end the core content is supported by a series of numerical examples and also by details regarding the execution of specific contemporary structures primarily from the architectural perspective.
