The article is a report on the eponymous exhibition in Hunt Kastner Gallery (Prague, 2016), which was concentrated specifically on how Chatrný’s oeuvre, opinions and standpoints were reflected by his milieu – through the works or figures he encountered during his lifetime. The authors are convinced that the artist's significance lies not only in the originality and authenticity of his artworks and projects, but also in his direct influence on various generations of artists and other personalities, especially in the Czech environment, namely in Brno. They look at his work in a broader context as a creation of situations, open interactions in the context of art, arts education and civil life.
