The text is contribution to the reflection and recognition of the "discipline" of action art from Czech Republic in recent two decades. Contemporary Czech action art logically follows the continuous history of the entire XX. Century. There is not enough space to capture this historical base affecting the present neither in brief. The link to the international context is mentioned only in the hints, as well as the role of domestic and international festivals, cultural circles of art schools and centers. It was not possible to focus on the often contradictory influences of curators, historians and theoreticians, nor the importance of individual fragmentary archives, uncomplexed databases, and sporadic publications. Also the theoretical discourse is beyond the scope of this study. The determined time period has not yet been comprehensively captured. Naturally, the main emphasis is placed on mapping the work of artists in a limited period of time who were comming on the scene, mostly in Fine Art context, leaving visible traces behind, in any case a choice. Some of the artists of the previous generations still active, are presented in examples. The stratification of this living organism we try to imply by dividing it into chapters: ART GENERATION OF THE 60's, ART GENERATION OF THE 70's, ART GENERATION OF THE 80's, ART GENERATION OF THE 90's, FEMALE ARTISTS COMMING ON THE SCENE AFTER 1998, MALE ARTISTS GETTING ON THE SCENE AFTER 1998, ART GROUPS AND ASSOCIATIONS GETTING ON THE SCENE AFTER 1998, THE YOUNGEST ART GENERATION AFTER 2008
