Sustainability Assessment:Macroeconomic and Microeconomic Frameworks
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This monograph “Sustainability Assessment: Macroeconomic and Microeconomic Frameworks” represents various concepts of sustainability assessment. The book is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter, Historical Context of Sustainability, presents the development of the idea of sustainable development and the key milestones that have shaped sustainability. The second chapter, Related Economic Concepts and Sustainability Models, presents four new economic models based on sustainable allocation of resources: green economy, sharing economy, digital economy and the circular economy. The third chapter, Macroeconomic Frameworks of Sustainability Assessment, explains why Gross Domestic Product is an inadequate indicator for sustainability assessment and how sustainability is assessed at the macroeconomic level. The fourth chapter, Sustainability Assessment at the Corporate Level, presents three ways of enterprise sustainability assessment: sets of individual indicators, Sustainability Balanced Scorecard and composite indices. This chapter shows the results of authors’ own research, which took place in the period between 2010–2017 and has provided two indices as an output: The Complex Performance Indicator and the Corporate Sustainability Index. The book is intended for academics who carry out their pedagogical practice and research in the field of sustainable development; students and professionals who want to learn about alternatives of measuring the performance of the economy and of a company.
