Ve sbírkách na oddělení novějších dějin Západočeského muzea v Plzni se nachází rozsáhlý soubor historických skleněných negativů z první třetiny 20. století, zachycujících interiéry sakrálních staveb v regionu. Z církevně-historického a stavebně-historického hlediska je to téměř unikátní pramen pro poznání podoby těchto objektů. Největším přínosem je zachycení původního mobiliáře a vybavení objektů pro porovnání s dnešním, mnohdy tristním stavem, způsobeným především přístupem k sakrálním památkám v době nedávno minulé. A také mohutnou vlnou rozkrádání interiérů sakrálních staveb po roce 1989 za účelem snadného zisku. Panelová výstava je výběrem nejzajímavějších záběrů, na kterých se můžeme seznámit s interiéry velkých i menších sakrálních staveb v Plzni a okolí, porovnat je se současným stavem, zamyslet se nad osudem tohoto donedávna potlačovaného fenoménu, který je pořád součástí naší kultury, ať z pohledu víry, nebo jen z pohledu krásy a obdivu k naší historii.

The collections of the Department of Recent History of the West Bohemian Museum in Pilsen contain an extensive set of historical glass negatives from the first third of the 20th century, depicting the interiors of sacral buildings in the region. From a church-historical and architectural-historical point of view, it is an almost unique source for learning about the appearance of these buildings. The greatest contribution is the capture of the original furnishings and equipment of the buildings for comparison with today's, often sad state, caused primarily by access to sacral monuments in the recent past. And also by the massive wave of theft of the interiors of sacral buildings after 1989 for the purpose of easy profit. The panel exhibition is a selection of the most interesting shots, in which we can get acquainted with the interiors of large and small sacral buildings in Pilsen and the surrounding area, compare them with the current state, and reflect on the fate of this until recently suppressed phenomenon, which is still part of our culture, whether from the perspective of faith or just from the perspective of beauty and admiration for our history.
