By combining physical, chemical and biological methods, many unique technical solutions for the protection and treatment of water can be achieved. Some of the material and process applications that have been demonstrated in the real environment are presented in this poster. Specifically, it is an active system for eliminating contaminants present in rainwater based on the use of mineral sorbents demonstrated in a family house arrangement (SORBOX). Mobile wastewater treatment technology with combined mobile unit and microwave treatment of sewage and sludge rounds off the presentation of the demonstrated projects (KUBIK). When operating a biogas plant, the smell around the plant belongs to unwanted effects. The developed biofilter utilizes microwave heating to achieve the required operating temperature and at the same time transform odour compounds into odourless forms (DIHEB).
