On 18 and 19 October 2017, a delegation from the Fukushima Prefecture - The Center for Environmental Creation (CEC) delegation from the Fukushima Prefecture nuclear power plant visited the Czech Republic. The mission of the delegation from Japan was to familiarize with the procedures and methods for the remediation of contaminated sites used and developed in the Czech Republic. The first day of the visit was a workshop in Prague at the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) and at the State Institute for Radiation Protection, v. I. (SÚRO) organized in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) based in Vienna
