New challenges for economic diplomacy within the EU

The paper focuses on economic diplomacy in the context of international change. The aim of the paper is to find alternative views on economic diplomacy based on the method of analysis, comparison and description. Considering the context of Economic and Monetary Union, it analyzes the effect of the single currency on the overall economic health of both the euro area members and the Czech Republic. With its low interest rate monetary policy, the ECB offers opportunities for economic diplomacy. Also, the CNB, using its four-year exchange rate commitment, used the exchange rate as an instrument of economic diplomacy. The Commission proposes several measures that directly affect the economic environment. The member states have many possibilities within their own economic diplomacy application.
