The application of ENA for evaluation of the protective performance of ZRP modified by combination of Zn dust with stainless steel flakes type of filler
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Protective performance for combination of Zn dust with stainless steel flakes incorporated in epoxy coatings adherent to steel substrate has been investigated by means of electrochemical noise (EN) measurements. It was supposed these systems are “smart” because they release inhibitors species and sequester aggressive ions (e.g. chloride) when a corrosive aqueous environment is encountered. As binder material is one of the most important factors determining the effectiveness of the corrosion protection provided by zinc-rich paints (ZRP), possible effects of two types of binder material on the predictive performance for given zinc and filler content in tested ZRP were investigated. By means of analysis of EN data it was shown the protective performance of tested type of coatings can be changing with immersion time (26 days in 0.05 M NaCl) rather differently in relation to different ability of polymer matrix (binder material) for “good work” of inhibitor species dispersed in it. This paper is contained in Proceedings of EUROCORR 2018 (Krakow, Poland).
