The objective of this article is presentation of the most important stages of the series of thirteen conferences on the theme Human Capital and Investments into Education organized during 1998 ? 2011 by the Banking Academy and the Financial and Administration University. The main attention in the analysis is paid both to the theoretical contexts in which the main theme operated (the mutual relation with the process of formation of knowledge society, the link of the reform of funding of investments intothe education system with reforms of funding of the health care system or pension insurance), and to the issue of the relationship between the theory and practice with emphasized possibility to use theoretical instruments for analysis of conflicts of interests in this field. The last chapter of the article briefly evaluates practical results of the analysed series of conferences and the present status of reforming efforts in the field of funding of systems of social investing and social
