Production and consumption of education, leading to education of an individual is considered socially beneficial, and its effects are manifested as a direct intention, or in externalities. The paper deals in its individual parts with the issue financingof education production as a good. In the introduction, the typology of education goods in relation to the issue of public education in the country. The main part contains the problems of financing higher education under the influence of the economic recession and the possible variants of changes in the funding of tertiary education. A list of reactions of colleges to the situation after the economic crisis is included. The paper was written in the context of specific research supported by the InternalGrant Agency University of Finance and Administration, Faculty of Economic Studies; Funding for the productive services.
