Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Poster at AACR Special Conference: Colorectal Cancer: From Initiation to Outcomes; September 17-20, 2016; Tampa, FL. The significance of postoperative follow up of patients with advanced colorectal cancer using circulating tumor DNA. One of the main possible uses of detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in peripheral blood of patients with advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) is their long-term postoperative follow-up. With minimal invasiveness of tests may be performed at regular short intervals, without significant distress of the patient while monitoring the actual presence and volume of the tumor tissue (tumor burden) in the body of the patient. This is of particular importance when evaluating the radicality of surgery, monitoring the response to treatment, and for the early detection of disease recurrence. In this presentation we show the clinical application of ctDNA detection within the postoperative follow-up on five case metastatic CRC patients.
