An increasing popularity of new political subject has been noticeable across Europe in recent years. Yet, many of these subjects have only been able to sustain themselvesfor a limited time. The aim of this paper is to investigate the process of institutionalisation of political parties, through which they become stable and consolidated elites. The aim is to present a modified concept of institutionalisation, based on the work of David Arter and EinaKestilä-Kakkonen (2014). On three separate levels, this concept explores the electoral, internal and legislative dimensions of institutionalisation. Quantitative indicators that are useful when comparing a larger amount of casesare also provided. This approach is then tested in practice and applied to the party ANO 2011, which became a major political force in the Czech Republic.
