The chapter reflects that despite the ongoing health crisis, Europe's 'green' ambitions have hardly lost momentum. On the level of policy-making, the European Green Deal (EGD) is central to these ambitions. But the European Union, being as institutionally integrated as it is, still has to reckon with national responses to climate policy, which differ substantially from state to state.
