Full Scale Test Platform for TBM Systems Integration and Maintenance

A specific experimental platform dedicated for tests of Test Blanket Module (TBM) systems integration and maintenance in ITER Port Cell #16 is currently under construction in Centrum vyzkumu Rez (CVR) in the Czech Republic. The facility ? TBM Platform ?is designed according to the F4E and ITER Organization requirements and is a non-nuclear, full size mock-up of the ITER Port Cell #16 (PC#16) hosting the European HCLL and HCPB TBMs. It reproduces mock-ups of the TBM systems, bioshield plug, mechanical structures, and all the relevant interfaces. The platform is designed in particular to validate TBM systems integration in PC#16 and to carry out tests, validations and training of maintenance and repair operations at the interfaces, pipes and subsystemsof the TBM systems inside PC#16. Besides, it will be possible to test and train also removal and reinstallation of the main units (Ancillary Equipment Unit, Bioshield Plug, Pipe Forest) inside the PC#16 mock-up.
