The Jules Horowitz Reactor (JHR) is a Material Testing Reactor under construction at CEA Cadarache in Southern France and foreseen to be in operation by the beginning of the next decade. Operated as a User’s facility at international level, it will promote coupled operation between the operating European MTRs (BR2, HFR, LVR-15, MARIA…) for performing multilateral programs associating one or several MTRs and hot cell laboratories for postirradiation examinations. These programs will beneficiate from a strong support of state-of-art models and codes, either for defining the experimental protocol or pre-calculating the sample behavior, or finally assessing results. Czech Republic is participating on JHR project through ÚJV Řež (UJV), where its subsidiary, Centrum výzkumu Řež (Research centre Rez, CVR), is delivering hot cells, for post irradiation examination. UJV and CVR is also participating in three main working groups, which are working on future utilization of JHR facilities, as well as continuing the research and development work in the nuclear research sector. This paper present the most important research activities of CVR via JHR consortium and its three working groups. This activities are related to the important Czech national project Research for SUSEN (R4S), which is oriented on material research studies for supporting current as well as future nuclear energy sector.
